So; the truth hurts? Whiny, or whatever you want to call it, still does not change the truth and the reality of living in OKC now. But in response to this; I have plenty of employment options as I am not stuck to just oil/gas like most of the folks in the area. Had no issue getting the job I wanted at a higher pay than O&G, just in a different industry and different location. Good luck hitting that crack pipe. Oh, and not a he, a she, but guess that is a 50/50 assumption or just sexist. You must be HRs best friend.

Yep, there are plenty of jobs; especially if you want to sell cars, do some recruiting, or like asking "would you like fries with that". But, depending on your situation, could be viable roles for you. But if you are used to being a manager and furthermore liked being able to go out to eat every so often, good luck with that and staying in OKC. Most everyone I know that has recently left oil and gas that has secured another local job has done so for nearly half pay and with absolutely no expectation they will have it for very long. If you can get something to stop the bleeding and can actually cover your bills, let alone live, you are probably doing pretty good to do so. Welcome to the new norm folks..and hope you can work it for a few years.

It's a shame but who did not see it coming...really!?!?! It will continue, and for those in denial, be prepared. Getting down to a skeleton crew and years to recover. There are NO other jobs so you better be looking outside OK/TX now. Have to rain on everyone's parade, but it is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
