Actually it doesn't make sense as they can simply just fire the recently employed staffs and state it was due to their incompetence to give the recent layoffs more credibility.

Actually, it makes sense because then they can blame all the fraud on employees that are no longer there and say "IT WAS ISOLATED..ROGUE EMPLOYEES ACTING ON THEIR OWN!"

Too bad the attorney general will never crack down on them for these practices both employment-wise or fraud-wise.

Actually its not good business to ditch experienced workers for cheaper ones, more mistakes, lack of understanding, inability to deal with known problems, no connection to customer. Successful business know this, sh--ty ones dont which is why EDMC is going down faster then a rock hard turd.

What don't you understand? It's a smart business move. Let go of the employees with higher salaries and tenure and bring in fresh college grads that will be excited about earning 40k with a huge smile on their faces.

It's business simple as that. You were and are nothing but a number always remember that. This is any corporate environment so pick your sh-- up and keep it moving. Stop acting like you lost your best friend.

Less money to pay comes to mind, though the common sense is to just straight up say in person that they will get a pay cut or just "demoted". It is not surprising that doing so will cause complications due to the law in regards to employment, so they're trying to avoid the obligation as much as possible. That in mind, it is possible they're trying to outreach to people that haven't heard about the negativity about the company. But since the general public is unaware until it actually impacts the society as a whole, that possibility is less likely the reason. It is also possible they're probably fishing some new players to add on to their roster to do damage control and that the lower payment in comparison originally is just bonus for the company. Either way it is a questionable action amidst the recent layoffs.
