AI OC lied to many students or withheld information like telling prospective kids Comm college basic courses would not count like English college math n other GE courses. All to get an enrollment right then. advice to employees get a new job now bc it takes awhile.

AIOC admissions dept is still alive and didn't have any casualties, but sfs, career svcs, student affairs lost people... Along with academic directors and a couple other random positions like the bookstore manager and an instructor or two.

Honestly admissions won't last long, they lost a lot of people a while ago due to the poor management and theyd be very wrong to think that good people will continue to tolerate the same treatment for much longer.

Last time there was a threat to Career Services was when Greg Marick tried to fire the head of CS while she was out on maternity, driving her to commit suicide. His exemplary leadership and extensive educational experience has now landed him as the director of a preschool.

I'm not saying the school is teaching out tomorrow, but it's naive to think it's going to last with no admissions or HS reps, they have no positive student flow. It will die of attrition and then teach out.

Unless WASC suddenly gave the school high standards or some unexpected complication in their financial, this school can survive...... barely.

@I2kThrn-1ada Nah its too early to jump to a teach-out conclusion unless you have the actual total of students enrolled in that campus for the year or evidence that shows they have no desire to hire people in the now empty positions besides HS reps. If we take the rumors here in this topic at face value, it seems to affect the only the top as they are tight with money. It is possible they can survive for a bit longer with a skeleton crew and any current number of students they have above the minimum amount enrolled, you know assuming those students don't quit within this year. I doubt this campus will be the next CA school to shut down but it is not promising that it will outlast the others before that happens. On a side note any news about technical or Career?

I just read that AiOC's entire admissions dept was murdered, and I spoke with a HS rep friend who said all the HS reps are gone. So AiOC has no source of new students. That tells me they're planning on teaching out. My guess is this happened at all the campuses. With $0.03 stock and no way of bringing in revenue, the handwriting is on the wall.

To: @I2kThrn-vct can you clarify about the directors and coordinators that got laid off? I heard the administration had a hard time keeping good people during 2012-16 due to constant restructuring and that they mixed in some incompetent people in-between those times.

It's true…. the jobs are posted already:

It's actually 2 positions - Design "ASSOCIATE PROGRAM CHAIR" and Media

Question: What does "ASSOCIATE PROGRAM CHAIR" mean? Does this mean you get to sit IN the chair, or do you just get to look at the chair - while you do all the work which was done by several people (now laid off)?

I was told by an instructor that none of the instructors were hit, but the word on campus was they were going to consolidate all the program directors into a single director position. I heard from a HS rep that ALL the HS reps nationwide were cut and they offered one months severance.
