Oh f--- off with your uninformed bullshit. We all have been paying unemployment insurance and should be able to draw on it when unemployed. Comparing it to welfare queens just shows you don't have a clue what it is like

It's a Republican controlled state. They hate EDMC freeloaders. You should have saved your money you low life. Now you want to suck off the tit of the government while living high off the hog like welfare moms. You knew this day was coming, not exactly a secret, fail to pan, fail at life. Not the tax payers problem.

"Get a clue!!! 90% of our student body is scamming the system for stipend money" Yet on another thread you gave each other high fives for doing such a good job. So I guess the truth is finny out.

Sent in my appeal this morning!! Takes them a month to schedule a hearing!! I rather go find a job!! As for us scamming students??? Get a clue!!! 90% of our student body is scamming the system for stipend money. The other 10% wouldn't be accepted at a real university. Let's stop acting as if our client base is future Harvard students. I'm giving ZERO f!cks right now!!!

AZ person. You can get unemployment. Unfortunately you need to wait until the severance is used up. Example: if you receive a four week severance you can not get benefits until the four weeks pass. You also have a "wait week". So, in that example plan on no income for five weeks. Apply about two weeks before the time start, again using the example apply the end of week three. Also don't expect much, the top weekly pay out is very low. Hope this helps you.

I don't know Arizona law but I think it's just delayed eligibility not that you aren't eligible entirely. Calm down and then speak to someone at unemployment in AZ. I was a 99 weeker during the recession and learned all about NYS unemployment regulations.

Have all the details about how much severance etc when you speak to them.

The irony of EDMC employees getting F@#ked royally is just TOO much. Sucked when a system you thought had your back slams the door on your @$$ after giving you the boot.

At least you are not in debt for life for trusting a fellow human being - one that lied to your face for profit and the good of their now-drowning overlords! EDMCthulhu is being sent back to the darkness where it belongs.

In MA Unemployment starts 2 weeks after severance. Apply then.

If you sign a release form, legally that is not severance, so you are eligible for unemployment benefits.

Don't believe that bull. Fight it. You can win. FedEx laid people off with severance and still were able to collect.

Here in Texas, you have to wait till the weeks of severance are done before you can apply for Unemployment. Here's hoping it's the same for Arizona.
