Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

September layoffs are real

I've heard from a high level manager today that there will definitely be another round of layoffs in September. People who they wanted to layoff next week but needed for a little longer to transition out of their roles will be kept until September and then get cut.

someday Seagate will be rid of all its pesky employees and then they will finally be able to make a good product and make money.

The company cannot sustain their dividend each quarter. They will have to lay off again in September. They're screwed when there is no one left to get rid of.

OP here. It is not site specific, Seagate needs to cut significant operating expenditure to adjust to the new normal of a quarterly market of 100 million drives or less. They will cut both blue and white collar jobs globally.
