It has been a good place to vent my anger, hear like minded people and discuss the (No) future of Intel.
I will be starting a new job next Monday and will probably won't come back here anytime soon.

It has been a fascinating 11 years ride.
New jobs are great..so is moving on from Intel.. Too bad it is to significantly lower positions at huge pay cuts.. But at least WalMart, in n out and KFC offer health insurance and no resume gaps.
It's so glad to hear that people are getting back on their feet. For those that have not found anything yet, keep at it and try and figure out why their strategy isn't panning out. I've found that sites like dice.com, hired.com are pretty good sources to get some opportunities flowing in. It might be tricky negotiating pay though since most of these opportunities are contract opportunities and there are many headhunters. They keep their cut, so may need to negotiate the terms to get what you want.

As to the girlfriend analogy, love it.
It was the love of my life for 20 years. She lives in the public eye with a terrible new pimp named BK.
I feel sad for her other many Johns as many are my friend and she is giving them STD of the worst kind!!
I will read much more bad news about the Pimp and her not only hear but also in all the celebrity gossip mags. Moores Law has ended and ARM has run over and raping the poor girl for $5 a pop and the pimp don't even know, LOL

Glad to hear folks are starting new jobs. With my experience and background I thought someone would be interested in my resume to at least call me. I'm starting my 9th week of being unemployed with several dozen resumes sent out, but have not received a single call.

It's like people got dumped by a girlfriend that they insist was dysfunctional - and then rebounded into a functional relationship, with which they're much happier - and yet they want their ex-girlfriend to crash-and-burn for rejecting them. Even though it was this rejection that forced them to get out of the dysfunctional relationship and find something that was better for them: something that was initially traumatic, but turned out to be for the best.
When you're truly Over Her, you don't care what happens to her. You're happy - and that's all that matters. You don't need her to suffer. You are, in fact, grateful that her rejection helped you out of your rut. It was something you should have done for yourself, but didn't. You see that now.

I hear ya. I'm checking out officially today (VSP). I have two jobs lined up. The whole thing has been surreal but for the first time in many years of malaise at Intel, I'm feeling excited about new working adventures.
Intel has major headwinds to face. Let the RCG/H1B's deal with it now.
Oh, and BK SUCKS.
