Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Coworker= competition

It's a zero sum game folks. If your co-worker is doing well it's at your family's expense. In the next focal it's either me or you and it ain't gonna be me!

I encountered a backstabbing guy like you once. Paid my old Hells Angels biker friends to stomp the sh-- out of him. Competition gone, guy left town quick.

And I am amazed at how little the tech savvy Darwinists seem to know about history and philosophy.

Prior to the current regime of globalization, companies did have loyalty to their employees. They might have underpaid them, exploited them, but they kept them on if their work was good and retired them with a gold watch. It was this antiquated thing called "cooperation."

People are not "entitled" if they protest the current reality. They want a better deal with their society and they have a right to advocate for their best interest. The truly entitled class is the .01% that thinks they are owed millions and millions of dollars while they whittle away at the fabric of the society that supports them.

Several people in my team including manager who is at the same grade level as a few of us have got VSP. Only the SSL2 will survive at the next bell.

Hunger games anyone? If anybody is willing to take bets I want to put down serious money on the doofus manager.

3 -- what your group was doing had no value to Intel

So let's chop the lower end of the curve even though they bring about as much income to Intel as their co-workers.

That only makes sense if:

1) there is someone coming on to replace you with greater value

2) you just want shove more work on the test and think you'll have same return. Oh and rule with fear.

I vote #2

I mean usually we know who is on the end. The division between people is small at times.

I know Intel has the right to get rid of us but it was implied sideways was the way to go and promotions are hard to come by.

So Intel either changed the criteria for failure or my bosses weren't being honest with me and should have given me BE instead

Oh and if I try to beat my coworkers this year it will probably kill me. Hard work being satisfactory

Here's a clue for the slow minded.

We're all in competition with each other no matter where you go. Prove your worth or GTFO.

If you really have value to offer and you feel you were undervalued at Intel - take it up with your manager or find another employer willing to pay for your value.

RE: "If your coworker does well, that implies the company does well which helps everyone. It's not zero sum."

You are right,,,,unfortunately if your co-worker does well but at your expense...you will not be around to enjoy the fruits of the company's success.

Keep that in mind.

I know I will do well as I am political, sleazy, not afraid to throw people under the bus. My goal is to become an exec soon.

Loser mentality.

If your coworker does well, that implies the company does well which helps everyone. It's not zero sum.

There are a lot of entitled assclowns in this company. If you feel that you are treated unfairly, you always had the option to leave for another company. The fact that you stayed and are now whining speaks volumes about how you manage your own career.
