Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

It is only going to get worst as less than 50% of the12k layoff has been achieved

Get ready for next slaughter especially in the US as another 4-6k heads will roll soon.

Latest rumor is after the ISP, ERP, VSP even if they get to 12K that the total required to bring Intel inline with other companies is 30K, the end is only the beginning.

Of course if cloud grows 200%, client computing returns to 10-20% annual growth and they outfit F42 with 14nm tools than BK and Richard and Murthy can again hire and waste like drunken idiots.

The sky is falling, new technology late as are all products designed for it. Current leading edge is below target with no new compelling features or demand. Macro economics are terrible. Completion had never been more fierce and they are pulling ahead. Intel Waterloo at hand and a slaughter is going to be.

Site closures account for a good chunk of the 12k. Some sites are open through the end of 2016, others through 2017.

It wasnt expected to have all 12k gone by now. 12k was by the end of 2017.

Bring on the additional cuts! As a shareholder, this is what we want.

The word internally is Intel actually planned on cutting 30K. They arrived at the 12K mark in hopes to not shake up Intel stock to much (over the mountains of bad news) and transition slowly with little impact on groups and projects. 12K is a mark that Intel will hit and reevaluate afterwards.

Anyone thinking that Intel is going to stop at 12k is either naive or in denial. If they can take out an additional 5k on top of the 12k they will do so by closures and people not taking VSP. Don't believe a word of BK or any other one of the politicians running the company. They never disclose how many people take packages or have been redeployed in the past and I don't expect them to do so in the future.

Except the site closure thing is not so simple. Some People at these sites actually doing work. So they're trying to move them not fire them. Lol. Pass the popcorn please!

If sites with less than 500 employees are being closed + ERPs + 2500 ISPs(already left). HR will get more than 50% of their 12k. They will not know until morning of June 3rd. After June 3rd phase 2 efficiency cuts will take effect.
