Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Received an Appeal Decision?

If you've received an appeal decision:

How did Intel notify you?

(Phone? Email? Snail Mail? Carrier pigeon?)

What was the result?

(Denied? Successful? Referred for ODI?)

Reason for layoff? It was publicly announced as low performance. So this little game of appeal may turn up an another reason, like: We fired you because the bean counters said so, but oh, by the way, we made it look like you are a low performer.

You accepted am at will employment. They do not need a reason to lay you off. The appeal process is a courtesy. If you are appealing just out of revenge, something tells me HR was right on to lay you off.. I imagine you retaliated with everything that went sideways in your life so definitely not a good guy to work with and definitely not a good fit for Intel or any other company to be honest

You can appeal just to expose the corrupt and incompetent management and to cause them more pain. Make'm squirm. Its free.

Last year they communicated their decision (Denial) over phone. Most of the communications were were made through calls so that I can not keep documentations/records of it. What a great culture! Save ur own ass

Just my opinion. I would never appeal. Why bother working for a company that didn't value you in the first place. There are so many opportunities out there and I'm sure you'll find something else more rewarding.

Congratulation your appeal has been approved and you may start effective next Monday. There will be a site consolidation which means you will need to relocate to Costra Rica to Vietnam depending on your preference. We may also cancel your project which means you could be played off by June 25th. It would have been better if you had taken the ISP.

Sincerely Intel HR.

"The appeal process also can trigger ODI for why ssl4 was given."

That seems like a double long shot...to get your sh*tty job back. And get laid off next round anyway...

I think that the appeal is to verify that you met criteria (e.g. Successful / SL4 in 2015) vs. whether you were properly given an SL4.

I didn't bother with the appeal process...

No phone call, no email went into a black hole for me beyond the dear john response. Didn't expect anything better from my former employer of two decades.
