Intel didnt steal 50% of the business from Qualcomm, more like Apple wants it to get that share, so they can get low prices on their modem, due to competition..
If you compare the two modems, you will see they are no where equivalent.

All fluff, the modem isn't a core expertise of intel. The part was designed by an acquisition and manufactured in a foundry. How is intels internal fabbed modem looking?
