I remember the old AMD, first. To dual core, kicking Intels butt with older and far inferior process mode. Too bad they are gone and intel didn't have to be good anymore, look what happened, LOL

As to TSMC they already beat intel, Apple choose them as PSO was to arrogant to take their business and now they have a guaranteed customer for more units and steeper volume ramp than any intel CPU product, LOL

Reminds me of when AMD switched to using "Performance Rating" numbers to try and keep up with Intel.

We excel when there's competition, so far it just a lot of hot air. TSMC 10nm? I'll believe it when I see it.

Does Intel know what sells? Client, phones, tablets are all down. The only reason cloud is up is there is no competition. Where there is competition intel hasn't done well. More layoffs and cuts are coming to maintain margins as beyond cloud memory and IoT are lowest of margin business.

It all comes to selling the products. If the product doesn't sell there is no point on developing. So yes, product cancellations and to reduce costs you can't afford: lay offs.

What will intel do if 10nm and 7nm are late, OMG.

They have Tick Tock Tick Tock it was going to conquer all it TMG delivered, looks like TMG failed. Who got fired for TMG failure?

Tick Tock the clock ran out and the strategy blow up! That means no new generation to make tansisitors fast and smaller. Means if they do another product on 14nm die size won't shrink, power won't be reduced, why would anyone buy it at the same price? Seems like biggest revenue generation machine has just run off a cliff, a perfect storm for TMG. But BK is TMG so the right person at the top to lead intel out, No?

I know TSMC and Samsung technology is not as good according to the Intel shrills, but Apple, Nvidia, Google all will move to next nose and get power reduction, performance improvement, battery life improvement and cost reduction thru die size reduction.
