Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The minority congregation would like to disown Aicha Evans!

We need a better role model than a complete failure that has tarnished the image of every minority hire. Not just at Intel but at every company! She's doing irreparable damage! We work very hard but still get treated like dirt and looked down upon because everyone thinks we're getting special treatment like Aicha. All of us minorities don't desserved this stigma!

I absolutely agree with the poster. I worked colsely with Aicha for over 2 years and found her to lack the basic technical background and leadership skills needed for the position. The "SoFia" was clearly a failure from the begining. All the tech leaders like myself told her so, But somehow she managed to sell it to that idiot BK... The aquisitin of Infineon , the near bankrupt german cellular modem manufacturer, the mororola's failed cell phone operation from google, the fujitsu's failed modem group in AZ.... the list just goes on.

In final analysis, it should be BK to blame for hiring and keeping this idiot, this crook....

I agree with the last poster.

Anyone in Intel who has worked with Aicha knows she is a real leader and very people oriented. Unlike most management, she does take chances and experiments.

We currently have great wireless communication solutions across the board. What we still lack is a good Application Processor.

Aicha's responsibility for that part is very recent and I don't think she can be blamed for a decade of FAIL.

It's sickening how people can come up with excuses for anything when it serves their preconceived biases. Get rid of Aicha and put in a someone else that's black/brown/green/blue/purple/women/human-animal hybrid, I don't care! I just care that he or she is not a complete failure like Aicha and doesn't have to rely on tired excuses. There are a lot of more qualified URM to take her place!

Really! how long has she been with the company that she warrants all this responsibility for the failure of the mobile market? From what I understand 50% of the next iphone 7 will have the Intel 7360 LTE modem chip. Apple is not a company that will use inferior parts in their flagship products. Maybe she deserves at least some credit for that. It's funny to see someone use URM and respect in the same sentence. Understand what the word "URM" means; because of lack of respect you have UNDER REPRESENTED minority and you will continue to have that no matter what initiative are in placed: social isolation, harassment, assumption of under achievement, etc.... will all lead to "URM."

Thank you, OP, for the post. You are very well respected for telling the truth behind Evans, the real truth that the lying, deceiving mgmt at Intel refuses to acknowledge.

Agree She single handedly set the black cause back at least 50 years, before the civil rights movement.

This is exactly what happens with "positive discrimination". No URM wellwe'll ever now have any respect at Intel independent of their ability and contribution. There will always be that question mark!
