Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

How much Intel is spending on these ACT restructuring ??

I guess during last quarter results they allocated some $1.3B...What's the exact amount..

Also, Is that cash going towards ISP / VSP / ERP packages Or something more?

Heard BK got an update last week on the cost and went ballistic. Expect future packages to be a lot less

"Why the hell do I have to pay people to leave? "

But they will soon be hiring again as they lost a lot of good people this time around, lets just hire some more lower paid people who don't know squat to be told what to do by the remaining yes managers, that will work really well as those managers were the one in charge of all the successfully and visionary things that worked so well in the past 5 years!

I would be more afraid, if in next 2 years they end up hiring more than 10,000 + New people...

Yea that always amazes me.

Paying people a year to do nothing. Obviously there are other money factors involved in employing people but my feeling is it takes a year to recoop the cost of layoffs.

Now if you're talking about the impact to projects timelines people's health I don't know when the break even point is.

It's a nice numbers game. Claim all loss in one quarter and then the next quarter looks good. This is probably the by this action needs to be done before end of June.
