For everyone pondering VSP I say make the decision and go for it. There will always be uncertainty but personally I would rather disrupt myself than give a company the opportunity to humiliate me.

Look around is this a company going someplace, will it regain its past glory.
x86 and monopolistic pricing is going to go.
The Chinese as well as Amazon, Google, Apple, and FB are tired of the 60% GM pricing. Intel still makes billions more than anyone else.
Look at the long list of projects tried and failed at Intel. Has any other technology company spent so much and failed so much and still a one trick pony that is about to disappear. The volumes of PC continue to decline. Memory, IoT, modems are business Intel has tried again and again and never been able to compete. They require efficiency, fast to market, flexibility, nothing that Intel excels at.
Get out now!
Exactly what I did last week realizing that you should control your own destiny and not their decision if you got the offer. Especially the "encouragement" letter that you couldn't copy and paste or print that was strike three for me in my mind to make the move. Good riddance
