As soon as I received my Green Card at Intel (EB-1B) I got my a$$ out of Intel and living extremely happy life out-of-Intel.

no stinky managers (not qualified for the word) and their pet sidekicks who were equally as unqualified in my face though I knew more than either ever could. -- yes they were foreigners.
Now - better job, better co-workers, better house.
Wake up when I want to
No need to check my pager 10 times an hour for email that I need to respond
No need to log on to work and check how fab is doing, lots on hold,
No need for 20 pages a night with no compensation
Not stuck in a dead end job with 2% raise and lying managers telling me false areas for improvement
Sleep really well have no need for the purple pill anymore
Got a year to figure my next gig where I will work hard and likely be rewarded with a management that cares.
Feel terrible for those that think they should leave but can't get off the can. Everyone with VSP should take it, start life fresh again. Working at Intel is so over-rated. I can see why the foreigners have no choice but once you get the green card get the hell out, that ship is like the titanic. It is going to surely sink, not a matter of it, but only when. Study it carefully and you'll see get out while you can, and be free and get a life and a career.
Being unemployed feels better than underemployed, underutilized, and unappreciated.
Sometimes I lose track of what day it is. I can tell though when weekends come because costco overflows with people
@Hv8B2az-1jia My experience was similar. Never been in such situation, EVER. With my kid in last year of college, single income, mortgage, car payments I completely freaked out. I put all my energy and landed a job same week I was ISPed. Back to normal now. Glad I am out of Intel. Hang in there friends.
being unemployed (layed off) was the worst most stressful period of my life. 2 babies and a new mortgage. I didn't eat for 3 days. You older guys might be set up to retire but I had spent years in college (about 10) just to get the job and never had any clue the industry would deteriorate to such levels or be such a shark tank. I bounced back on my next job but I can see that the industry in America is all the same. 2 things are going to happen sometime in the not to distant future. Going to leave america to someplace with job legislation that protects workers and going to get the hell out of corporate enterprises. Maybe I will teach. But one thing is damn clear to me. This industry is headed to the dogs as it panders to quarterly reports and wall st. We'd probably be happier/safer in communist china that trying to make a career here.

I like to call it semi-retired. I make more per/hr than I did at Intel but work 1/2 as many hrs. I only work when I feel like it. The every day is Saturday comment rings true for me too. Life outside Intel is good! I should have left YEARS ago.

Super bored, left last year. 59 yo, was lucky in life I do not have to work any more. Will start to work as a substitute teacher, always wanted to do it, now it is good time, the process is slow. I read a lot. Still very angry, but, starting ti accept it. Driving wife nuts, too much time together now.

It's like everyday is Saturday. You wake up it's Saturday. You go to sleep wake up and it's Saturday again. Then you go to sleep at night and wake up next morning and guess what it's Saturday again!
If you attach the word, unemployed, to the situation, the mood is crappy and slightly tense; however, it is great to be out of the hostile, ugly environment that Intel offered. Mgmt did nothing to remedy the working conditions except make them worse.
