Thread regarding Nokia Corp. layoffs

To keep your job: Must work on weekends, Must work anytime when asked to work (7AM-11PM). No OT or comp time. Might as well go work for Huawei.

Is Huawei hiring in USA? If I have to work the weekends and from 7AM-11PM, then might as well work for a Chinese company in USA where I'm guaranteed to get a salary increase and bonus every year. Guaranteed because Huawei made $60B last year (and $12B of that just from services). Huawei is winning market share in all continents. Maybe not in USA for Mobile Networks, but they are going to beat Apple/Samsung in the cell phone business in USA. Just you wait and see. In order to win against Apple/Samsung, they will come out with a better product at a lower price.

At this point, doesn't look like Nokia is going to win big on 5G if they plan to cut test/customer support/development/sales/marketing from fALU. fALU people know their customers and their needs. We've developed products based on the biggest two customers in USA. I can just imagine how the USA customers will feel when an entire cities network goes down and they don't have enough people in USA to investigate the issue since most are in Finland/Poland/Germany/China. Nokia needs to have a strong team of testers/developers/debuggers of code (and I don't mean just 100-200 people in the radio group) to keep their customers happy in USA. Nokia must think 10 times before cutting people in USA. Once the USA fALU employees are cut/gone, Nokia will have a difficult time keeping the customers happy. Happy customers=flat constant revenue to keep Nokia alive.
