Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Anybody know the story. Sounds like they may not have the same category so for those who stay how is above satisfactory defined?

Assumed we don't get canned on jun26 if we stay.

You think economy is going to grow, Nope

You think PC sales will rebound, Nope

You think smartphone sales will increase, NOPE

You think Cloud will grow, Likely

How man cloud chips are sold, not very many, though they make a lot of money.

THus total factory volume will go down and thus bigger cuts are ahead.

Ugly time to be just average and hardworking as you are now below average

Ugly time to be above average as you are now average and likely on the chopping block

Ugly time to be a superstar as you are just average and likely could be a superstar somewhere else.

Time for average and below average to get out

Time for the superstar to get out

Time for everone to get out

Agree but if it boasts Intel shares in the short term. Sell all and run

Run forest run

The competition within each group is going to be fierce. Managers will have to assign "under performing" to a certain % of employees in their group. It will be all about never being the weakest link. Strategically, you will need to compete against your direct co-workers. When moving into a new group, your first concern should turn to the workers in the group and would you outperform them. It will be a ranking in that manner. Someone or two or three will always have to receive a lower score. So it will be all about who stays on the "Island" so to speak. Performance based review system? Not quite!

"Exactly what Intel DOESN'T need, of course.

In a resource constrained, hyper-competitive environment, there will be no shortage of political intrigue, back stabbing, grand standing. Pretty much everything except actual work and clear-eyed strategic thought and execution."

Why would you think Intel doesn't need this? This is exactly the scenario that Dick Taylor wants. This is exactly what BK wants. They are brain dead self loathing losers that believe that ruling with an environment of fear is the path to success. Thousands of worker bees busting their asses trying to make themselves look good and better than their peers is exactly what they want.

What these idiots of industry don't realize is that while this culture may work at times in the short term, long term this is poison and will ruin the culture permanently.

But, you see, BK is an idiot. He has no capability to lead. He has no idea how to maintain the good businesses we have. He has no idea how to grow anything. All he knows is instilling fear in others and driving the company to do what he thinks is cool, regardless of there being a viable business or not. And, finally he's so delusional that he think his diversity efforts will hide all of this. He think you'll ignore the fact that he's a sociopath. That he, and he alone, decided to wrap $50 bills around every SOC to try and buy MSS in a slowing market of tablets and phone. That he named the new leaders of PEG that have screwed up the only two processors they have managed thus far.

He's a dork that got made fun of repeatedly growing up, and he wants to exact his revenge. He's not that intelligent, and he thinks we're all dumb and will simply coo with admiration for his bold stances on "inclusion".

And, he's supported in this by a fat f---ing Englishmen that no one likes, is angry, and wants to fire everyone to prove to himself that his dick isn't as small as it is.

Quite the leadership folks. Add in the new psycho, and there's no way this won't be hell on Earth.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION EVERYONE!

"It is going to get more competitive as managers will be required to give some IRs where they haven't had to recently, thus the need to use SSL instead . I suspect the upcoming focal changes that are currently being developed will create a more competitive culture and will hinder collaboration potential."

When will the half year reviews be October?

There will be a half- year performance review as well. For some reason, bk and the donut monster think that intel tanking is caused by people sleeping at their desks.

Next year if you are successful with level 4 or 5 stock it means you are an IR and better get your resume ready, especially if you have no O/E

If you are successful and level 3 and have been in your job longer than your peers you are also IR and need to be ready to get fired too.

If you are truly great or deserve positive stocks expect to get robbed as some average Joe will get your rating and or stock so your group won't get decimated by BK's next headcount reduction.

Where is your source of a June 26th date?

I don't think there's ever been a clear definition. I just do my best in a 40 hour work week and see what happens. If my best 40 hours a week is not good enough, then so be it. If one works more than that, then everyone else starts doing it, and it triggers a never ending war where everyone loses.
