DEC semiconductor anyone know why we bought them, because their CEO read somewhere that our CEO said "we" ( I don't work there anymore ) don't invent anything. They asked their lawyers to look into it and found some stuff we copied a little to blatantly and got us to buy their semiconductor business and some other stuff. Look what happened with that one.. though we did get something that saved our bacon a few technology nodes ago. Sad how ARM and XScale couldn't be developed.

A little birds said RF designers all like external process better but if Intel process is so good why is that. The only reason we design in Intel process is we were told by our bosses we must. That is going to be a specatular fail coming soon.

These 'ventures' are reducing shareholder value amidst a declining cash cow that can no longer hide these egregious losses.
The x86 gravy train is running out of steam - even in servers where margins will collapse with the entry of the ARM hordes at 7nm
Intel only needs 1% of our ideas/acquisitions to be winners. We can always make up for the failures with more cuts and project cancellations. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Aquisition of a failed third rate near bankrupt German cellular Modem company known as Infineon, at a total cost of well over $1.4B. They should had instead purchased VW "clean Diesel" manufacturing plant. Would had been much less costly!!
