Another word for it is "looting." Corporate America has succeeded in making "to be rich is glorious" a domestic as well as Chinese slogan, but it is hanging itself with its own rope.
It says its only obligation is to share holder value. But looting companies to enrich CEOs and creating short term gains with long term debt serves no one but the short term profiteers. This country, and its allegedly beloved capitalist system, is being permanently impaired. No CEO deserves that kind of compensation for that kind of performance. Compensation should be limited to a multiple of wages and the prosperity created should have a test of time before profits are distributed. We need federal charter standards to protect the corporate thieves from their own greed.
Why give effort when you can just whine about the rich and demand more freebies?
Hate the rich, oh, America
"Rob Marcus leaves with $92 million of severance after two and one-half years."
What BK should get, prorated? 4Y with the CEO position, 4/2.5 x 92 ~ 150M USD golden parachute???
Better BK gets golden rain from Murthy... Much healthier for the company, and its poor employees/slaves.
