Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel's confusing business cycle will only cause further demoralization

As the company moves into it's "growth areas" and let's just say these are more wishes than reality, the confusing restructure and low profit margins will further the demoralization of employees. They will also leave by attrition since Intel will no longer be capable of long term, sustained growth. Employees need to make the decision to move their careers to successful industries.

You think BK cares about the morale of employees? Lol. All he cares about is if you have the right skin color and genitalia.

What an absolute mess BK and his crony Stacy have gotten the company into.

TMG needs a leader with vision for more than daily 3D! No amount of bean counting, ROI studies and haiku can pull the cart out of the mud.

Hey, maybe Stacy will be able to put his haiku skills to work in his new position overseeing TMG:

Bits of sand melt to

Form wafer for mobile chip

That Intel can't sell

Didn't the CFO just become TMG boss? You know it will be cruel management by the numbers with some external consultants input.

If you are in product, sales, marketing, design get out. Lots of companies with leaders that have vision are scrambling to find talent. Get out before your group gets cut, it has to get cut and become lean. BK already showed you how it is going to be done, not by project but by the numbers, just like focal O/E/IR and stock 1/2/3/4/5 it won't be about skills, value just numbers!

If you are in TMG and a manufacturing ant, be depressed, volumes are going down, factory needs are less, chips are getting smaller so the idea of factories across the globe must change. Samsung, TSMC and all large manufactures leverage huge economies of scale. They don't have the problem when one tool goes down they lose 50% capacity or have to keep extra tools for redundancy. Thus Intel will have to make even more harder choices. They already did it in assembly where for years the 60% GM allowed such wasteful approach, but the barbarians are at the gate with 30% margins or less and the TMG machine and all the leaders really don't know how to operate, there will be great and mindless cutting. TMG needs someone from the outside familiar with how a real efficient manufacturing network can be run. Senior management and TMG management simply doesn't have the ability or vision or likely emotional fortitude to make the required adjustments.

I agree must be a terrible time to be in TMG, ship is leaking, icebergs all around and not the right leadership.
