Seagate to outsource?

This is regarding there establishment in OKC. So the rumor is that while Shane kept denying outsourcing, he accidently left his organizer opened and there it was seen a "outsourcing meeting"; hence he lost his job.

I've heard some people say the official announcement will be made next week.

Why were some positions kept for younger employees while older employees that had been there less time kept their job. The management has no management training or experience. Friends were kept employed.

Take a look at Seagate Job openings. Vast majority of the recs are in India, so I would say yes Seagate is going down the outsource path.

They are outsourcing everything they can. Tech support for sure. My job was sent oversea's last month.

If they can pay someone over sea half what they pay you, they are going to. Not right but that's the way it is.

Wouldn't suprise me. Finance and IT is pretty much overseas now. Transferring OKC customer support to India does make sense.
