I've been at Intel 25 years. I knew 10 people that got ISPs and he was the only one where I said "WTF?"

I'm really saddened by 2 things:

  1. My team could really use his skills. We've got 6 people doing the type of work he did. He could replace 4 or 5 of them.

  2. I still see a lot of employees around that I know are genuinely low-performers and think to myself "How the phuk did he/she not get an ISP?"

I know both. Great people. I heard about the whiteboard post, but missed it. Can someone please post the link? I tried to do a search, but I don't think you can search for posts.

Not sure if @haw is JP, if so @nyc meant JP is different from the Jupiter-sized egos. But it'd be interesting to know if JP or JP browsed here. Either way, that whiteboard went far and wide, and it creates a firestorm wherever it goes (as it should). Very sorry that such a strong talent was affected by BK's nonsense, especially when BK stays around.

I can't say I've worked with JP (husband) but I did meet JP (wife) once. She was great and, under no obligation at all, helped me out when I was new with some tech info that nobody else cared to share (including through official channels that should have been obliged to give it). Never forgot it, thanks!

@nyc

Thanks not quite 20 years and my ego isn't the size of Jupiter

If it was I would have probably forced my way to promotion by anyway possible.

I know wife JP. Husband I do not. She is with INTEL 20Y+, and very different than other INTEL dinosaurs with similar status. Bit strange, excellent technical abilities, and very kind. Punctual, and caring.

Very different from these mental villains FLMs and SLMs, who are full of themselves, with their brains, each size of peas, and Egos size of planet Jupiter (respect to 10% of exceptions).
