I know of a manager in FM who refused to grant SSL4 to his employees during last focal and he volunteered to take the SSL4 himself thinking two SSL4 during last 3 years qualifies for ISP. Well, guess what? He ended up getting the ISP and they walked him out. GPTW @ Intel

Man overboard- you said it!! "Intel is just showing the world what those inside have always known; The ones who contribute the least and play politics the most rise to the top, while the ones doing the work go unnoticed." My group now has 2 mgrs over 5 people in AMR who don't do jack sh--. They let go 3 IC's- piled all of their work on us poor bastards left behind who are having to put puzzle pieces together. Just so we can bust our asses and get ISP'd next year. I am so done with this f up place called INHELL!!!
New acronym should be "SPTW".
Great place to walk
I know 2 managers in Oregon who were ISP and forced to do the perp walk. Intel is not a "Great Place To Work". They need to get rid of that program and be honest with their employees. But that won't happen since BK has made the corporation follow his LIBTARD ideologies. BK should be fired.
It sounds like he got just what he wanted. If so it was good maneuvering on his part and good for his people
OP: it's true, there are great managers who stand up to HR and refuse to give low SSL to their ees, and when they do this the directive is for their manager to performance manage them. Its quite sad that this happens....a manager being termed for being a good manager :( If ees dont deserve low SSL, the managers shouldn't be forced to give it. IMHO that makes them a great manager, not poor....
Performance is relative. Even if everyone is high performing, someone will still be lower performing than others. By refusing to give anyone SSL4, the manager forces other teams in the BU to give more SSL4 since the BU has to meet the distribution. I wouldn't call this manager a hero based on the limited info we have here. It's possible he was being selfish, thus the SSL4 he got was deserving. Frankly, there are plenty of people that deserve SSL4/5. The problem is they're usually not the ones getting it due to politics, clueless manager, etc.
Every large group must make distribution and at larger levels by grade level too.
What will happen now is every manger will rotate positive O/E and positive stock as no one can trust what the next firing criteria is.
Right now what they are doing is getting rid of all the high paid at every level. Your grade level determines your rough complexity of contribution and if you aren't an O/E or 1/2 and there a long time than you are overpaid and others do what you do for less, after all that is why you at S and no positive stock.
Out with the old overpaid and in with the cheap and younger workers
This is the same as the following situation: good gladiator (manager) rejected in arena to kill another two gladiators (two ICs), so praetorian soldier (HR) killed him.
With this sacrifice he will not change the system (INTEL). Systems are changed in different ways.
This goes to show you the brutality that is applied to make sure SL4/5 distributions are met
This manager is a hero for making a morally correct decision. There are not enough like him.
@HpP2nqe-jzs, let me give you an example: director has beneath him 4 managers, Does he have obligations every year to give one of them SSL4?
I know managers who are FLM managers in INTEL for 25Y. Can FLM manager be from GR 7 to GR 11?
manage gets focal review too
@HpP2nqe-odv, could you, please, explain to me the term: "manager (in INTEL) being a low performer"?
It's not up to him to get a ssl4. His manager gives it. He put have been a low performer or his manager did not like him
sounds about right. he didn't do his job by failing to meet the quota.
