Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The pervasiveness of the fog...

Did anyone follow what Murthy was saying yesterday before the questioner called him out?

BINGO!

...and the approach that Intel is taking with layoffs will ensure that the ones whose core competency is playing internal games will remain...

Closing remote sites and consolidating people to a handful of mega-campuses takes people from being close to customers and makes it harder for them to interact with the outside world.

"It's very simple. People do what you pay them for. Focal is 100% internally focused. People will play politics no matter how Murthy thinks he's going to "fix silos"... because that's what Intel is PAYING THEM TO DO."

It's very simple. People do what you pay them for. Focal is 100% internally focused. People will play politics no matter how Murthy thinks he's going to "fix silos"... because that's what Intel is PAYING THEM TO DO.

To get good results (including but not limited to the destruction of silos) compensate people based on the value they deliver to Intel. To get more of the same (market losses, beaurocracy, politics, layoffs, etc), just continue the internal political game called Focal.

See the excellent Microsoft Vanity Fair Article posted earlier today to see how their focal system drove the same internal politics and business results.

I just watched the video. I didn't understand what Murthy was saying BEFORE the questioner called him out, but I certainly understood Murthy's response. I'm sorry that you guys don't like him but he is right and he's doing the thing. Intel has a big problem with silos and collaborating and he's trying to fix it.

Does it matter?

All this talk about new structures and higher ups talking how great we can be is just salt in our wounds when we are told we aren't A+ employees for an A+ company.

Dignified way would be said our skills weren't needed at Intel, not that we are losers.

Oh come on ... you can't be fired for asking a question in an open forum!

We must endeavor to create a synergistic and seamlessly symbiotic Intel inspired intelligent compute and connectivity fabric between the device and data center.
