Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Closed on pressing the ERP button and signed the Release Form

I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Met with the Fideilty advisor today and did yet another review.. Thank god I maxed out my 401k and can leave with no worries - word of advice to all the youngsters "do this" if you are financially able to. I am north of 60 with 30 Intel years. I will miss the work relationships, but life goes on. It kind of reminds me of when I left the Marine Corps - a great life experience but eager to start a new chapter.

I pushed the same buttons last Thursday. Have a bunch of holidays on the books so I will not work another Saturday night for this CS outfit.

OP, how much do you have in the bank? What's your net worth? Looking for a target for myself.

Best wises for a happy, relaxing and long lived retirement!

Besides what the OP said....these days careers are not as stable as they used to be.....so besides maximizing your 401K you'll need to also saving outside it...try to get to 25% of gross pay.....if you are not there yet, save the majority of your pay increments and you'll get there over time.
