Is these meant to avoid further embarrassment by giving ISP to SLL 3 (As SLL 4 & 5 are already gone) to achieve headcount target ? Also, did any group got clarity how will they pick up for next round of ISP
ISP stands for involuntary. It does not have to mean performance. Intel could have any criteria and as long as it was broadly applied then they are safe. So, you could get caught up in an ISP net and your leaving would be involuntary.
The VSP pool (of which I am a member) was not large, based on common sense and this weeks meetings and letters there is no f---ing way a sane person would think the VSP pool will ne the next ISP pool. That was their intention in making a targeted pool- so there will e less work if they have to turn around and ISP more folks. And for the record I criss crossed Ronler for over a week and aside from a couple nibbles I am one of only a few taking the package. All my friends saying they will wait to get ISP'd, I undertand their plight but I feel for them. Even if you make it thru this years "events" this is now looking like an every year thing.
If the remaining VSPers coverts to ISP, then the new ISP pool would be too big. HR will have to glean only some of the remaining VSP To teach the right number. So what, then, would be the new criteria?

@ekf - I had the same thought. HR is digging themselves a deep one on this.
How can the Monday letter say that if you don't take the VSP, you may be ISP'd with a lesser package and then get less than those ISP'd in the first round? Implying this seems like coercion...

I think VSP was 4 years of at most SSL3 plus above average time in grade.
If the VSP converts to ISP then I bet the terms stay about the same as the VSP, except you must leave. You'd stay eligible for rehire. Of course none of this is actually known since those actions aren't yet defined.
The VSP criteria as just one SSL 4/5 and twice median time in grade, right?
