Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Wasn't offered but would like VSP anyway, any tips?

I wasn't offered any of the packages as I had an exceed two focals ago. I want out though. Don't think Intel can succeed after implanting so much distrust and fear. At least Apple compensate you for the constant fear and pressure.

Anyway I can get a VSP and hit the road?

I'm in a newly formed group. Nearly all the people are new to the company apart from me. Over 50% of the team is new female hires. Things are not looking good for my white assnext year. Could I request VSP based on this?

How close are you with your manager? If friendly and supportive, this is what you do.

Tell him you want an IR so you can get a package and leave.

It's a win-win: you get some extra cash when leaving, and you've helped him meet his focal distribution with the IR.

I heard someone asked for it and got it last year

If you're good enough then you don't need the extra help. Just leave and never look back.

Cease all current work activities, network, and look for another job. Let them continue to pay you until you leave and don't give any advance notice.

Not intending to be insensitive to those given vsp who would prefer to stay. I have been at Intel for 15 yrs and have 2 close friends given isp. Last few weeks have been demoralizing. I am no longer proud to be part of this company nor do I believe in its future. I will leave just seeking vsp to ease the transition

Just start looking for a new job. VSP bonus ain't better than a 10-20% raise. You got time on your side, use it.

I dont understand. We got VSP. And we have fear of not being able to pay our mortgages and pay for our kids' school tuition. Finding the right jog takes time. You guys are probably rich enough and i really wish i could give my VSP over to you. Sorry. It is really very hearth breaking to read this. I feel that you have no emphaty for those who are suffering. Nutcracker

If you are successful in getting vsp please post and document what you did to get it. I.e. Work through mgr or go straight to hr, etc. I too want vsp but was promoted 3 yrs ago and exceeds in 15

This is a super question. I am in the same boat. Longtimer and had a good year last year and got SSL1/Exceed. . was sure as a middle aged white male I would be on the chopping block soon, but no dice yet. I think they are running some strategy, and instituting maximum pain on a lot of employees to see how many they break and just quit without a package. I know many in this situation and are considering leaving regardless of vsp. zero faith left in Strategy and leadership.

I would escalate your request and tell them you will gladly sacrifice your place in Intel so a high performer can stay. Don't blame you for wanting to get out of a poorly run company.
