In Santa Clara on Friday can everyone against the way management has conducted the layoff wear a black top or tie. Would be a real site of solidarity if I walked in sc12 or RNB and saw a show of support for our colleagues.

did people really wear black? Do you feel better about going to work on Monday?
So how many sheeps ? and how man lions ?
I imagine people will wear black for all the reasons you say and more. And you know what it's ok!
Specifically, what are you protesting?
Are you protesting the layoffs themselves? Isn't that a common business practice? Should businesses be forced to maintain numbers when they change direction? Is this Communism?
Are you protesting the Severance criteria? Well, what criteria would you suggest that'd be impersonal enough to net large numbers, and as likely to avoid lawsuits?
Are you protesting the WAY the ISPs were "walked out?" Isn't that, too, in place for legal reasons - as heartless as it is?
What exactly is this protest supposed to be ABOUT? You need to refine your Cause a bit. Otherwise, it's just, "I'm angry." And it's hard for mature employees to get behind a vague and pointless gesture.
Just shut up and wear a black f---ing top. Be a rebel for once
What are you going to do, unionize? Of course you can't do that, but any organized gatherings short of that doesn't help anything.
@zdy: I lost my job and I did not need a PC. But, I went and bought the first AMD laptop I saw. I will donate it since I don't need it.

And just because of you,on Friday I am going to have to pick something other than the black tee shirts I wear 95% of the time.
Yer nuts. How would it possibly benefit you to label yourself as a malcontent?
And when do you make a stand?
I realize that the ending of "V for Vendetta" was stirring, but when one speaks of "deniability" and doing things "en masse to protect the individual," one has lost sight of the power of an authentically principled stance.
"What's the downside?" This "B for Black Shirt Friday" has got the potential to create even more divisiveness with one's already-beleaguered fellow workers in this already-troubled time. How will you feel about the people who choose to wear a whimsical Tommy Bahama print instead? You'll know who the kiss-ups and cowards are - the ones who don't have the testicularity to make this simple gesture of Solidarnost.
And is there REALLY a point to the gesture? I think the executive branch is probably already assuming that you and your co-workers aren't pleased with the constant sense of threat created by this Severance bloodletting.
But this is your employer, not a totalitarian government that you literally can't escape. Yes, they can fire you without good cause - but you can leave if you find this heartless modern-day reality unbearable. You can, literally, work for someone else.
It's probably not convenient for you to quit in protest - but a principled stance rarely is. That's what makes them thrilling. Well, that and the Guy Fawkes mask.
It's solidarity we can show each other. It's open but deniable. It will only be effective if people do it on mass so it protects the individual. Just do it what's the downside?
why don't ppl alert the media that you're doing this...so Intel Inside sees, do you think they care after what they're doing? Perhaps the show of solidarity should be shown to the OUTSIDE world....so that ppl know what Intel is doing to its ees :(
Here's a protest: make your next computer an AMD or ARM machine. I am doing it now.
Folsom is in also...
Oregon will join as well , spread the words out
That's 95000 sheep now.
Why put a target on your back? You can't do any good if you are marked for death.
If people really want to achieve some change you have to be there to make it happen. A thousand small things by a thousand people adds up over time
Nice try HR
Why would we the Indian protest? We have been given special privileges, and it will be ungrateful to protest against BK for taking care of us.
I'd rather be on the side of 6 lions than 107k sheep.
There will be 6 people in the entire building wearing black. Seriously, might as well start an online petition too while coming up with worthless feel good crap.
