Can't explain how Target will beat Amazon going forward and that a million plus guests are too stupid to understand his brilliant bathroom policy. The Emporer has no clothes. C-suite says ouch, what about my stock options.

"We?"
ha ha ha,,.,..we got a sensitive one working there didn't we..spending time on the site at work...LOL...Go back to work..
ebqj: DUDE what is your point? You argue both sides of every comment you make. You need to STEP away from the SUGAR/CAFFEINE/CRACK etc. You seem to be VOMITING hyperbole at full CAPS with no care of reality - calm down DUDE. So they (GOOGLE and every other MAJOR US company) aren't all in INDIA then? Who the F are you to say exactly what THEY ARE physically doing there? I though you JUST spouted that OUTSOURCING to India was the end of the world. They're not only outsourcing in and to INDIA they are ALL growing in India. Troll some other basement dipshit.
Here is my case in point....This is shoes..

Programming is a lot more advanced on this...
Take a trip to Hyderabad. You'll find multiple large buildings each with Google, Amazon and Facebook on the side of them. Frankly you'll find that nearly every tech company had a campus there. They all have similar footprints to Target's. There not hard to find, they're all very close to each other.
Really dude. I have. All of them are customer service or sales centers. Backoffice operations - sure. More importantly, what you don't realize is all of them DO BUSINESS in THAT COUNTRY and that's why they have presence there. In all those 3 cases, the individual markets are 2nd or 3rd largest markets for them. And of course, they will have them but features & products - its done here. You saw the Yahoo! debacle in Bangalore and look at how they shut that stuff down. It's for the same reason, if you are SELLING in India, you don't build product development for India in the US. It works the other way too - its basic business and that's why Target will always be a loser. Unilever and Procter & Gamble are terrific examples of glocal - build where you are selling. Not the other way around. The TTS loser leadership will always do it. Now it's run by a moron from TESCO who basically did the same thing to TESCO and is in bed with the India shop. Something tells me you will be in the same place next year - fumbing around trying to launch Target Pay whereas WalMart is accelerating.

doig: I spent the whole day listening to a slew of TTS leaders spouting similar BS. You must not be too far removed hmm??? Arrogant, entitled, naive.... Spouting buzzwords and cut/pasting others work/thoughts doesn't make you relevant or prescient.

Targets problems are not the outsourcing of IT. TTS while a pain in the A$$, is the tip of the tail of the dog.
And this is EXACTLY the mindset that got you here in the first place and contribute to your decline. All retail is technology. The dash button for Amazon didn't come from outsourcing it. All of Google, Amazon and Facebook product development happens HERE. And look at where they are. It's very simple. Outsourcing core competencies is the kiss of death. Look @ every single company that is a market leader in its primary categories and see how they are structured. Its the same story everywhere. WalMart found it the hardway and now they are finally climbing up back the hill.
8zcp: huh? India's the problem with weak US consumer spending in Clothing and Consumables......
Of course it is. What you don't know is that the market share is shifting. It's not that they are not spending, they are not spending with YOU. And that works when you are asleep at the wheel and outsource innovation to morons..

As long as you morons keep outsourcing to India, this will be the case. Its called muscle memory. Every single blue chip company who is a leader in their space has their operations here because its a source of competitive advantage. That's how you learn. It would be like outsourcing merchandising decisioning and process to China because everything comes from there. Every year programming gets more and more automated and to churn out 10 lines of code, it takes less and less effort and you only get that in the US. Until the morons in the C-suite and all the bullshitters in IT who have vested interest get this, this will be the case..The top line growth has been whiffing for the last 5 years (its growing at best 2-3%) when Amazon is growing at double digits. And the best part is the story of oooh...our online sales are growing at 30%. Morons - that's just channel switching...You guys are still losing. Shut down India like WalMart did and then watch sh-- grow.
Doesn't seem like team members ever accepted him. When JM was in the interim role people actually seemed to have hope, and feel optimistic - he was actually making change and moving things forward. BC came in, slashed spending and jobs, stopped communicating to/with the people that work for him, and driving any trust, loyalty, or optimism out of the organization.
You can only cut expense so far, after that you need to lead. BC is not the guy for that. If you can't solve the real issues and don't know what to do after you cut costs, time for a new leader.
His shine with wall street has certainly been tarnished. He best deliver on his audacious statements to them or he'll be out on his ear. Team members have already rejected him.
