Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel is ramping hiring in India. PDG alone is creating a 500 person SOC team there in the next 8 months so they can layoff everyone in Austin

"Importation of labor"? funny how the connotation completely changes in two centuries!!!

We don't have enough graduates in engineering, period. At the end of the day, intel is a business. If it needs to survive, the emotional aspect has to be bundled out. Is it fair to ask all the Americans today to get back to the country of origin of their ancestors and allow only native Americans to stay back in USA? Let's not get into the stupid "you" vs "we" argument. That's not only dumb, but is also meaningless in a country like USA.

If you want to rant, sure go ahead. Nobody will listen.

Yes, education is more expensive and native-borns aren't eligible for diversity scholarships and subsidies. American workers have student loans, healthcare expenses, social security, unemployment, environmental regulations (and now global taxes for carbon), property taxes, mortgages, and income tax to pay to "our" government which uses its power and authority against us. The DC globalists want American workers to continue to pay for all of those things, but compete with China and India on labor. Makes no sense. Never has. These corporations need to pay tariffs to sell domestically after outsourcing labor. And the importation of labor at the expense of domestic needs to stop.

FIrst of all I am neither American nor Indian. But maybe one of the fundamental problem in the US is that education is soooo expensive that it's preventing lots of US citizens to get Masters and Phds (and even lower level diplomas). So that at the end the US system has anyways no her choice than to use foreigners (and by the numbers they are mainly coming from Asia).

If americans applied to past publicly posted reqs one may have an argument, but that is not the case so if you want this tech sector of business then h1b's are a must and if you dont want this tech sector in the is then the US is doomed to be surpassed by other countries so be careful what you ask for!

@1mgc, you are clueless, ain't you? Someone posts some nonsense and you take it at face value? This troll had posted the same thing in a comment yesterday too. I bet you were laid off. Not surprised. Good for intel. With an attitude like yours, nothing good can come out.
