Sohail is from Pakistan, and will be remembered as the person who destroyed LTD. He took over an org with a 2 year lead over its competition and put it 6 years behind by the time he was fired, LOL

Sohail is just a big wheel in a machine that is totally broken, spin spin spin really fast but stuck and going no where.

Monopoly on x86 and process leadership is gone, what is the competitive advantage of TMG now?

revisitng a two year old thread, who would have thunk, scaring off talent, micromanagement and poor leadership by SA and AK would have led to todays 10nm mess?

Sohail will run this company (to the ground) in 5-7 years from now. I worked under him for 5+ years, he's an ruthless as they come, changed the entire culture and chased so much talent away. But he's not the problem. Shrinkage is a dead-end street and we've been bleeding profit since at least 1268. He's just the dumb, stubborn hard-nosed captain of the slowly sinking ship who batters the hatches and keeps pressing as that's the only thing he's ever done.

Sohail Invented TMGs hire cheap H1B's to cut cost model. PhD requirement was set to eliminate US born candidates, we clearly don't need PhDs to sustain tools.

Turns out the good H1Bs wont come to Intel because of its reputation as a sweat shop, so they've just been hiring from third tier universities with graduates from unrelated majors.

The H1Bs are only biding their time till they get their papers in order. Ofcourse Intel has lost its manufacturing lead.

Sohail implemented this model with tacit support from Paul and BK. Time for him to take the responsibility and leave.

Because Ann and Murthy will be on the biggest loser. First one eliminated will be offered a package.

Absolutely correct. If Ann and Sohail are held the the same standards that Intel has expressed for all employees, then they should both be fired for failing in their current roles. Losing the chip technology lead was an event the founders had never expected. These two are directly responsible for Intel failing to keep a 4 year lead in chip technology.

By the new employment standard that only the most recent years performance matters, both Sohail and Ann should be offered ISP, 14nm and now 10nm delays have squandered what was a few years ago an almost 4 year process technology lead over the industry. I have seen examples of both ignoring what their senior (PE) engineers request, simple proposals that fall in the 'duh, just go do it' get absurd pushback from Sohail who endlessly micromanages. Everything is met with 'why'? Every so often, it should be met with 'why not'. Ann and Sohail spend more time de-empowering staff by telling people what NOT to do, instead of encouraging them, as leaders should, on what TO do.

This remains a complete mystery. He is way under qualified for his present position and has made zero revenue building contributions. BK has given him the authority to approve/disapprove FSM white papers. Whoopee doo! This is something a simple area manager could be doing. Funny that he was promoted during the timeframe that Intel was losing its chip technology lead. What a joke!
