Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

CTO OUT THE DOOR!!! FINALLY!

Word around our site is that a hotshot named Beresford from the Fremont facility will be taking over Re's position as CTO and will be ushering in numerous new-technology platforms which will stabilize the company's product portfolio and bring long-term profitability. It's about time too!

Now former CTO was a real failure. He failed at IBM, then took Readrite down and now he has failed before his baby hamr ever shipped.

I remember when Pittsburgh was first created and within their first year, they single-handely developed Perpendicular recording. So much for trying to win the hearts and minds of the Technologists and Engineers who labored on this technology for over 10 years at at RMO.

Has ponytail destroyed the company with his lack of vision and promotion of his friends? Pittsburgh mafia couldn’t get hammer shipped as it was promised in 2013? Proves that cronyism does not solve technological challenges.

Yes, that's him. He's the guy who walks around with his chest pushed out and his arms puffed out to the side like he's 2 seconds away from setting the world's record in bench pressing.

That prick is the textbook definition of a work-place bully. It is even rumored that he knocked up the Mexican girl who used to work in the storage room, and HR did nothing about it.

"Big-Body-Beresford" is going to be the next CTO? Yeah, right.

Back in 96-97? Beresford was a leading Director in Fremont keeping the factory running whilst having to deal with the massive layoff around the corner. I recall yields and morale at an all time high. He was a good chap to work for. And if memory serves me he was in his mid 20's. Besides being an engineer he also has a strong financial education...so maybe he is what Fremont needs

If true, although maybe too late, letting Re go is the right thing to do. On the bright side, maybe an unsuspecting Seagate nemesis will snatch this "hi-tech guru", which in all likelihood will lead to their decline and extinction (just like other organizations Re has led: Read-Rite, Seagate Research)....this would be good for Seagate : )
