How does this place expect us to continue working when we have no idea what is going to happen next and when. Just tell us already so we can plan our future

I would caution you not to expect EDMC Management to tell you anything prior to the end (yours there, and/or theirs as a company). They only look out for their own personal best interests. DON'T WAIT to at least begin your attempt to GET AWAY FROM THERE. Maybe they will do the right thing and provide some amount of severance, should you stay 'til it's all over, but just know that you should exercise caution in thinking that you can trust any of the greedy, slimy people managing that organization, from Directors, to Deans, to Presidents, to the CEO. I'm happy to say, I never worked for a more disgusting group of managers or a more poorly run company.
Don't wait for anyone or anything to tell you or give you permission to plan your future, most of all EDMC. Do it now. Learn something new. Add to your resume. Create opportunities for yourself. Otherwise you will just sit around, live and work in fear, and wait to get laid off.
Don't expect a company to plan for your future.
