Question: If Intel is citing these positions as "permanent" position eliminations, how are they legally able to open reqs (either internal/external or H1B) to backfill? Isn't that illegal?
If you lay off someone with 20yrs experience and replace him internally with someone with 10yrs experience you can easily hire some RCGs from the outside to replace the 10yr guys.
Its not like they are hiring RCGs to take a Grade 8 or Grade 9's position.
Only for 6 month intel can not apply for Fresh H1B.
Since this year quota is already filled by April7 . Next filing date is April 1 2017. By that time 6 month will be over .

They may as well layoff everyone. This will leave a bad taste in everyones mouth and forget about productivity or innovation for the long haul. I have never seen such tactics. About as bad as it gets, not sure who can continue in this company.
that number doesn't include Irvine and San Diego site closures...and OR site has almost twice as much h/c as all CA sites combined...
