Some of you keep fooling yourselves with the idea that H1Bs are paid the prevailing wage, blah blah. This is just BS.

Prevailing wage just applies to the base salary. Everything else is excluded from prevailing wage consideration. So an engineer eworkin at Facebook and making $120k base and $100k in stock and cash bonus is the same as an engineer working at Intel making $120k and $5k cash/stock bonus. If the prevailing wage is $110k then they both get paid the legal minimum.

So yes loser companies like intel, qualcomm, broadcomm, cypress, etc are abusing the H1B program like insane.

Even worse when the H1B quota is an issue companies like Infosys, Cognizant, EPAM come in to their rescue boat by an even worse scheme. Apply for 1000 H1B workers to contract, get 200 of them approved (win the lottery) contract the ones that got the visa to intel, etc.

And the other point some people miss is that. Those same loser companies will underpay immigration counsel so it takes forever for those H1Bs to get a green card which makes it impossible for them to negotiate better salaries and change jobs. That right there is depressing wage growth.

So y'all f---ing go back to India!!!

Complain all you want. I don't exactly feel a million bucks either when staring at a stack of publicly posted H1B opens, either.

However, from my point of view your activism... if we can even call it that, is pointless.

Your venting:

Won't get one extra person to "go back wherever they are", and
won't get one iota of anything else done except work yourself up even more. Do you know that there's scientific studies whereby the test subject who allow themselves to get angry, ie. "letting it out", only manages to make themselves even more angry?

Go ahead and damage your own mental and physical health. However, don't do it at the expense of decreasing the signal-to-noise ratio of this forum.

It's unfortunate that companies are abusing/over-using visa system, H1B/L1B, many online postings(including company's website and other good commercial job sites) and interviews done to fulfill the need of H1B hiring and Green Card Labor certification (LC) purpose and not with real intent of hiring. This should be stopped by companies and people also need to take some steps stopping this.

Just to look at IT area completely H1Bs/L1Bs also in semiconductor area too...

All these 65000+ H1Bs and additionals thousands of L1Bs are not doing any miracles, creative and innovative expect just job doers, taking away the americans jobs.

Obviously you will see some H1Bs/L1Bs here barking against this, not understanding H1B/L1B is temporary job visa only to fulfill the shortage seen in US job market than their full-birth right to have job here next couple decades....

And China to go-back to your country show over there your talent, etc., including McDonald Jobs!
