When is lights out prediction? 2018?
Starts are only 2500 wafers and once it could hand 10000 wafer starts.
Intel doesn't make Rio Rancho, they are just a part of Rio Rancho. We've seen this coming for a long time, so its no surprise to the community. Rio Rancho is growing and more businesses are coming to this area. RR will survive just like every employee who leaves Intel either through ISP, VSP or Retirement will. There is life after Intel. I'm doing better and get paid more than I did when I was there before I received a VSP years ago.
Yes. Too bad that Rio Rancho will meet its impending doom. Maybe a competitor will come in and purchase the business and make it great again. Shame on Intel for throwing it all away.
Its going to devastate Rio Rancho economy and plummet Corrales home values. Very sad. I worked there in its big days. Amazing place and people.
My guess would be the end of next year.
When do the taxes kick in?
As soon as the property taxes kick in they will shutter down.
