So Nuremberg is closed ??? Sounds like OP is a troll
The problem is because, qualcomm
Had two divisions QTL and QCT, they loaded the revenue stream into QTL and slashed ASP from QCT to get volume, but they never expected mediatek to come down and then the price war began. The beneficiaries are apple. They killed the industry with wrong strategy. So industry is stuck with low margin business not because of product efficiencies, but wrong policies. In the end engineers suffer. Prudent for businesses to exit this current market.
Total profit from Apple deal $0. Contra revenue 2.0
Most of the problems started when there was a request to get f---ing Intel Atoms into the modem + building a full SoC/AP/modem solution instead of concentrating on the modem
And what are precisely the profit margins on these "freaking complex" modems? 5, 6, 10%? Would this kind of margin even pay for the salary of these highly paid, vacationed and may I say "less killed than Qcom engineers" german engineers?
The freakin modem is freakin complex, much more freakingly complex than freakin anything Intel has ever built. Freakingly
I thought iGDC has people in Israel too. How about those?
So how many engineers do we need to develop ONE freaking modem? Show us the ROI should be the question to MCM. These people build their empire and come up with crap to keep themselves employed so they can fly privet jets and collect their $20M bonus every year. .
