Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Why is Intel not getting the server deal with China?

They hires a non chinese speaker to lead sales and marketing in China, why? Politics! BK appointed Rupal Shah to lead China team. How AMD got the deal? The CEO is chinese. She speaks chinese. Speaking chinese makes a big deal in dealing with China. Another Intel misses under BK.

'Chinese' is a race, more than a nationality.

Lol. AMD CEO is taiwanese, not chinese. If you don't know the difference, you are an ignorant white guy, that probably needs to look for another job, because obviously you are so out of tune with the real world.

Don't be too sure. Everyone knows in the end that China will take its technology but there is no other real choice. Everyone's backs are against the wall. It's just they are buying time. Everyone is buying time, that's all. CEO's are not stupid. As much as you want to think they are they are not. It's strategy.

Intel made some wrong plays along the tech run but so did many others. It's not an issue about being smart or not. It might also be an issue of luck of the draw. It's that big infrastructure companies can't survive in this new economy as well as brick and mortar retail. Just look around. It's sad but this is the way its going. How can we stop it? I don't think we can.

Forget about loyalty. What did Intel do to you for being loyal? They used your golden years and get rid of you. There is no loyalty in US corporations. Make good use of yourself and move on. You are just a commodity.

The Chinese will always buy from other Chinese in the end. It's a patriotic thing. White man never learns...

This is huge. That is why Apple iPhone is falling in China. Heard xiaomi phone, designed and made in China is more popular in China.

Intel will struggle in growing server market in China. Server is Intel only remaining lifeline.

For U.S. tech titans, of course, this isn’t great news. China remains one of the largest and fastest-growing technology markets in the world. Alibaba buys as many servers as all of Brazil, according to data from IDC. Local buyers, however, are flocking to domestic vendors. In 2011, the market share (by value) of networking, servers, PCs and smartphones from international vendors ranged in the 69% to 81% range. By 2015, it dropped to the 36% to 49% range. Whether the shift is occurring because of governmental pressure to buy local or better pricing is immaterial: it’s happening.
