Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

How's the culture in DCG?

Curious about how the culture is. In brief interaction I have had, it seems like a rigid organization, that put people on very narrow tasks with a rigid heirerchy on top of them. Any insider news?

Also, is DCG not concerned about their slowed down growth? Are people worried that the party will over be soon ?

I've heard from a friend that the DCG engineering teams are below average.

Even the first line managers are not very technical, and above that it's apparently all fluff.

Money is coming in due to the real work being done elsewhere......so this avoids scrutiny.

DCG is very political. Like the rest of Intel.

Because we're a virtual monopoly in data center servers (~96%) and the world is buying servers, DCG is experiencing growth. There's enough money slopping around to tolerate boondoggles like the healthcare and federal groups in DCG.
