Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel started turning toshit 10 years ago march 27 and it has been on that path ever since. Where were you OP? You sound like part of the problem. Enjoy your new Intel.

You don't suppose part of the hatred is because Intel layed off 12,000 employees while applying for permission for 14,000 H1B's do you?

I understand The overall way layoff went didn't considered Respect and dignity what BK called off during BUM. More surprisingly lot of people ,who were layed off were not that bad. I can still see too poor performers in my team sitting intact and enjoying .Not sure why managers gave them SSL3 vs other better performers then them.

But in general these has shacken up everyone and no one is feeling job security anymore. Also, given Intel layoff news , its preety hard to get calls .Why would someone hire , layed off (not completely true, but true if no extraordinary skills on your resume) .

BK definitely failed in lots of his initiative , but Intel has given you / your family a better life and you could realize it better by comparing . Pay check, bonuses, health insurance , spp etc.. All were awesome from peer companies. So, Intel doesn't deserve bad name.

It could be BK, Aicha , In future might be Murthy, who were never targeted for their continuous failures .

But , I would always Thank Intel..

I never praised Intel. It was a job and unfortunately, Intel breeds the worst of the worst. This is a very unethical, unprofessional, hostile environment to work in. I am glad to be out.

OP: You are out of touch and way off base. Intel truly does deserve all the hatred it gets now.

@pfc: Couldn't have said it better myself. Your post is one of the best that I've seen on this Intel layoff.com thread. We all understand that layoffs need to happen from time to time, but the way Intel has handled it the past couple years under BK has been sneaky and not transparent at all. And as you mentioned, BK outright lied to all of us about SSL being used in the past to determine perf-based layoffs. Now, they change the rules every year to suit them. How about giving your employees the rules for these layoffs before they are going to happen?

Corporations aren't people, so why should anyone care whether someone hates an inanimate object or not?

I haven't heard the acronym "GPTW" used in a serious tone in about 1-2 years. It maybe survived the VSP's of 2014, but the ISP's of 2015 and the way they were hushed really showed the true colors of the current administration. Any other CEO would have told everybody "here's what we're doing, here's why, and here's the criteria" but BK tried to outright hide the entire thing, and it doesn't help that he also lied about SSL being used in the past to determine perf-based layoffs (it wasn't until 2015).

The hatred isn't due to layoffs, people understand that they happen. It's about the politics, the retroactive SSL-based system, the fact that most people were never told of that system so they still gave & accepted SSL4 without knowing the consequences, the darts-on-a-wall corporate direction, the fact that BK focuses more on political correctness than good products, the cancellation of products that are months from shipping and used to be "priority #1", and of course BK and Murthy's compensation packages during all this. I recall back when nobody was better than anybody else, the CEO had a cube and flew coach just like all of us. Unless I missed the "we can all fly 1st class" memo, our great corporate culture is dead and buried. And that happened in the last 3 years.

HR reps should explain to everyone why they remove any negative comments from Glassdoor reviews and how much they spent on it. Why they are so afraid of any employee reviews on glassdoor.

Layoffs happens in many other companies as well, but every year Intel implements tricks and new criteria that is unethical and ridiculous.

That is why it gets such a high level of hatred over years..current employees also hate poor work environment and office politics...i m sure death for Intel is near..1274 is delayed more than 2 years..tsmc is catching up..

It actually needs more hatred than that for unethical practices, non-uniform and broken focal system, incompetent managers, lack of training system and politics..HRs are useless she any complaints is initiated. They take months and blame that they are understaffed..ridiculous.
