Top talent not needed for factory wells
Everyone knows top talent is in midland
YES, NO ONE WANTS TO LIVE THERE
The "Complex Well Team" is located in Houston and contains the best of the best drilling engineers, pore pressure prediction specialists, logging and sampling experts, etc . Many deep water wells are in this category (also shallow-water and onshore very deep TD wells; ultra-long throw horizontals, etc).
Would make sense that these resources, experience from doing many complex wells yearly (not just once every few years in a remote business unit) and the subject-matter expert synergies in the Hou-based group should be applied to Perm, Brazil, PZ (if it ever restarts), etc.
Who the f--- wants to live in midland? hard to attract top talent by offers them midland...
So was the whole drilling incident in Brazil a figment of my imagination?
and the best strippers
all the major players are located in Houston
Tell that to the big staff of D&C department in the Brazil and Argentina Chevron. I heard that Brazil Chevron did not drill or complete a single well in the last 7 years or will do so in the next 3 years.
Sounds reasonable. What do we know about it?
Drilling and Completion (D&C) of multi-million Dollar deep water wells would likely benefit from have D&C main office closest to the Gulf and other high tech resources, which is the Houston Office. That's my reasonable opinion.
