Nevertheless, lot of these ass kissers now must do the work instead the top performers with excellent delivery, ISPed due to different political and policies views, INTEL Inside. Good Luck with that!

Just wondering ... At other companies, how much is the networking skills useful?

Intel is a dead company walking. All these "networking rules" are the same ones that guide the workers of the government in their low productivity. Everything said about the need for "networking" here is true and it's a large part of the reason Intel is falling behind in so many ways - because for individual survival you need to mimic the zombies who don't do real work but just network instead. Intel is dead and she doesn't even know it yet.

There are no shortage of people in Intel whose jobs consist entirely of exercising internal processes and gaining internal approvals for internal funding of projects that will only be judged on subjective and political criteria by people inside Intel. Success or failure in this world is entirely political and completely divorced from the reality of external customers and the marketplace.

There are no shortage of vps and sr fellows in intel who have long and excellent careers doing nothing more than wasting Intel's money on bad ideas that happen to support the bad ideas put forth by their bosses and bosses bosses.

And that's why Intel is in trouble...

Can say this is correct but no matter how many asses you kissed this way or another you end up working harder and harder after they lay people off. And on the top of working harder and harder you will have to preserve asskissing routine in order to keep up with expectations. Not good.

So, it's better not to kiss anybody's assbut work as hard as you have to (work smart, not hard) - and find another job when time comes - there is a life outside of Intel.
