Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Murthy wanted to reduce headcount from 107k to 80k thus round of restructuring!

Murthy rational: Qualcomm revenue $23bn from 33k people.

Bk pushed back this time. But in the short term revenue will not be impacted and these savings will fall to the bottom line.

Conclusion: there will be a similar downsizing in the next 12 months.

Yes. That sta has been out there for a while, the net profit per capita. Intel is one of the lowest in the high tech industry. To bring the company back in line with the industry, there would need to be numerous more cuts. Just to make the very bottom of the distribution, Intel would have to cut to 90K. The 80K employee target would put this indicator at the center of the distribution.
