There's defintely life outside of SLB. I'm fortunate to have been kept on but also know that could change at any time... so looking for other opprtunities. It's been fear of the unknown that's prevented me until now. I felt conflicted about even looking for anything else, but there is a great big beautiful world outside of big blue, and outside of this crazy industry. SLB is the company name on your paycheck....NOTHING MORE!!!!

Slb dm north slope is a joke. Full of suck ups, arrogant workers and managers.

Glad I quit.

i spent 10 years on the north slope with slb. First 5 ok the next 5 were hell. got on with one of the magors on the north slope and have never been treated better. Found out just how messed up slb managment is, slb will find out there most important asset is there employees. Have never been treated worse in my whole life i am completely disgusted with slb ,Big fish small bowl managers.

Only depression and long periods of sadness and darkness.

Also regret for not trying harder and not sucking up to the right boss

Same. I found a job in another industry with better pay, better vacation, and I don't have to live in that sweaty ball-sack of a town called Houston.

Of course there is a great life outside that robotic coorporation. Once you get the ice cold bucket of reality thrown in your face you will be relieved not to have Quest to log on to or worry about how you are being monitored or measured. Many companies are much more employee friendly albeit more internally political. It's just so refreshing not be be just a GIN number and a cost, but to be seen as a real human being with a straight up boss. Good luck, but remember some coming out of Schlumberger are not the "right stuff" for many companies and struggle with real life outside the machine.
