Will it be sent out in the mail? If we make an appeal, would they give us enough time to make our decision from the time of getting appeal results to the last day to accept the package by?

@xpp - It's not in the ISP papers, only that there will be a period of time to accept and that the agreements will be sent out "within 3 weeks"

@hti - no, June 2nd is cutoff for VSP and ERP acceptance NOT ISP. I checked with Intel on this and was told 45 days for ISP acceptance.
@mqy may be correct about the offer being specific in AZ, but as to the period of time to sign, this is defined by FEDERAL law as over 45 days where there are two or more people over the age of 40 (OWBPA: Older Workers Benefits Protection Act).
"The waiver must provide the employee with at least 21 days to consider the offer from the date of the employer’s final offer. Note, if the reduction in force involves two or more employees, any employee 40 or over must have 45 days to consider the release, not just 21 days"

The severance offER must be specific to you with actual $$ and other benefits specifically spelled out. The general info in the packet from the ISP meeting does not count. The detailed one should be coming in the mail "within the next 3 weeks" after ISP meeting.

Once you receive the severance paperwork, if you are over 40 you have (by law) 21 days to sign and, after signing, 8 days to change your mind.
