some well connected, some got lucky... others are just more willing to suck up because they know they have nothing of value to contribute or parasites by nature (you know who you are:)

~90 laid off from Clamart end of 2015. 3 yrs salary as severance. at least one senior french person from SDR.

Not sure about other facilities but the layoffs at ours have definitely been political. Management made their grades prior to layoffs but the "crew" were the ultimate deciders who got to stay.

Those who are laid off may be the lucky ones. I'm old enough to remember the 1986 bloodbath, and most of my colleagues who were laid off went on to have successful careers in other industries. Remember that there's life outside of SLB.
