Based on trends and BK likelyhood of being around for another 3-4 yeara, expect more massive layoff to continue if Intel is to maintain profits at the same time saving his job.

Yes, the last writer's figures are fairly accurate based on Intel's new business model. The 12K is just the kick-start to the ultimate goal.
I predict that by 2020 Intel will employ worldwide 50,000 - 60,000 people. ARM is starting to en-crouch into the cash cow (server market) and they will be forced to have yearly layoffs.
