Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Layoffs and outsourcing

I have heard a lot of talk that layoffs are coming in about 2 months. I'm sure this is true. I also heard they are outsourcing a lot too. Does anyone know anything more about possible outsourcing?

I heard hallway conversations that they are positioning themselves to get boughtout by a big player in the SSD market.

A friend of mine works in a supplier of Seagate. He said a STX guy talked about a 60-day review during a meeting. What will happen next? Lay off of course.

Similarly hear that a lot of SV IT jobs are being moved to OKC and Asia regions. SV might either close down or a skeletal Business critical staff only will be retained.

Layoffs are going to be heavy. Hearing rumors of 25% cuts across the board.
