With due respect, lumping the H-1B policy with the other points to illustrate the ills in US s quite a stretch. But the H-1B policy is a MAJOR problem which is leading to a fall in the US middle class. Companies have badly exploited it with able help from politicians (through lobbying). It used to be to bring the "best and brightest", but then they invented the "STEM crisis" myth to expand the policy. I would say that "big money lobbying" is the root cause for decline of democracy.
