Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

wishfull thinking

I wish everyone who offered vsp/erp accept it. Intel will not be able to handle it - huge expense and loss of hard working and smart people - and realize it's mistake. it has become a horrible place to work.

lucky are the ones leaving. god bless those of us left behind.

For those left this should be a wake up call to get your house in order and ready for whatever comes after Intel.

twn has it right. II you are in a position to leave, take the ERP.

I saw something like this coming last June when a highly productive older engineer at my grade level was ISP'ed via the secret criteria. So I got my ducks in a row and was prepared.

I was expecting something like the VSP that was offered last year, but was very happy with what the ERP included. In my view, I just got another year+ of retirement while i'm younger and can enjoy it. My wife and friends say they can't believe how relaxed I am. My blood pressure is lower already. It didn't take long to realize the toll that was being taken on my well being.

Folks, it's just a job - not you life or self worth. If you can afford to go you should take it

While I'm pissed about my own situation, I feel more for those who are left. I prepared. I'll be fine. Everyone should always have a plan B at the ready. I had mine. Still pissed, but thankful I'm not a single parent with young kids in this situation.

No doubt life has been nicer to not be working nights and weekends anymore and not answering to the idiotic mgmt.
